About Us
Trijoy was established in 1996 with our first queen and matriarch, Lucy ("Starok Lei Laht"), bred by our great friends Jill & Graeme Martin of Charlestown, N.S.W. Trijoy is owned by Tricia Stoll and based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Since Lucy's beginnings, we have now produced 9 litters totaling around 45 to 50 wonderful kittens.
The Trijoy Korats are all raised in our house, as members of our family, rather than in external cages. We have a large laundry that serves as their indoor headquarters, full of cat poles, cat toilets, food and drink bowls and toys. There's just enough room for the washing machine, too. They have a flap in the window that leads to their outdoor run, which is a roomy caged area of about 3m by 3m with more toys and furniture, open to the elements with half of the roof covered to allow shelter when needed and allows the observation of birds and other wildlife in our garden. They are never allowed outside, for two main reasons. One, for their safety and breeding integrity and two, for the safety of the local wildlife. Korats are superb hunters, as are most cats and are not good for the environment. Some misguided souls think that this is cruel, but on the contrary, it is kind to both the cats and the wildlife. None of our Korats are the slightest bit interested in escaping outside (apart from Lucy, who likes to try to dash past us just for sport) and if they ever do find themselves outside on the rare occasion that some slow witted visitor leaves a door open, they demand reentry loudly!
Responsible cat ownership means that cats and the environment do not mix and for the sake of both, all felines should be kept inside. Look what happened to Fred Flintstone every time he tried to put the cat out at night!
Trijoy has produced many champions. Our walls are covered with ribbons, plaques and certificates. Lucy (1997), her daughter Brandy (2002) and her granddaughter Marcella (2005) have all been Queensland Korat Of The Year.
Grand Champion Trijoy Queen Marcella also won Best Korat Exhibit at the ACF National Show 2005. Are'nt we proud?! Marcella also happens to be cute as a button and is really Daddy's Little Girl. Korats are very athletic and play fetch better than a dog!
